Can I change my Gamertag?
On the Xbox 360 is it possible to change your existing gamertag to a different name, by selecting Edit Gamer Profile, Gamertag . But you will need to redeem some Microsoft Points to do this.
On the original Xbox no such feature exists you will need to sign up with new account details.
Can I use my Gamertag on my Xbox 360 and Original Xbox?
Yes. If you have created your Gamertag on the Xbox 360, you can use it on the original Xbox.
If you created your Gamertag on the original Xbox, to use it on the 360, you need to use the "Recover Gamertag" on the 360 Dashboard and follow the on-screen prompts. After that, you can use the Gamertag on both systems.
Can I share my Xbox Live Subscription to more than one Gamertag?
No, its one Xbox Live Gold subscription per Gamertag, you cannot buy a subscription and let different Gamertags use it at the same or different times, there is also no Family subscription to share amongst different family members, its one subscription for one Gamertag
Can I move my Xbox Live Subscription/Gamertag between locations?
Yes you can take your Gamertag whether its Gold or Silver whereever you choose to use on your own Xbox (when your on the move) or to use on another person's Xbox. You can recover your Gamertag onto someone else Xbox but this takes a lot of time usually. If you want your Gamertag to be portable
to use on different Xboxes I would recommend storing it on an Xbox Memory Unit or USB pen drive
What types of membership are available?
Silver - This is free and gets you access to the marketplace, you can download demos, films, updates etc etc but you cannot play multiplayer games across xbox live
Gold - As above but you can play multiplayer games across Xbox Live
How do the Gold Subscriptions work?
Each Gamertag that wants to use the multiplayer side of Xbox Live needs a Gold Subscription. You cannot share one subscription between multiple gamertags. i.e. you cannot have a "family account" where one subscription can be used by multiple gamertags one at a time.
What are my options for purchasing a Gold Subscription?

Will a subscription card override my credit card subscription?
Yes, a lot of people ask this question. If you are already subscribing to Microsoft Xbox Live using your credit card you can use a subscription card (purchased in-store or on the Internet) and when activated it will extend your subscription meaning your credit card will not be billed for a new subscription.
I need to make this clear. If you are already subscribed using a credit card and use a subscription card you will NOT be billed on your credit card again, not until the subscription ends. Your credit card will only be used if your subscription is due to end, if you keep topping up your subscription using a gold card the credit card won't be used.
How do I cancel my subscription/remove my credit card details from Microsoft's site?
You will need to contact Microsoft support via phone to do this.
