Postby Dirtbiker313 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 12:43 am

I have two xboxs playing off of one router, but I keep getting logged off of xbox live on both xboxs. Does anyone know how to fix this problem please. I do not have wireless, I have the cables.

Sorry but that router is not certified to work with 2 or more Xboxes with an Open NAT. You can try loading up the latest version of firmware for your router and then follow the advice to test it as noted below but its very unlikely to work on that router:-

Can your own router support two or more?

If not your sure, this is the best way to test it:-

* Obtain the latest firmware for the router, or if your router is on the certified list obtain the certified firmware version listed
* Turn off any portforwarding or DMZ's you may have configured
* Set the Xbox IP Addresses
to AUTO
* Ensure UPnP is enabled on the router
* Restart the router and wait 2 minutes
* Start up Xbox 1, run the Xbox live test, confirm NAT is Open and then log Xbox 1 into Marketplace (important)
* Start up Xbox 2 and run the Xbox live test and check your NAT status, if its Open you should be fine to play in the same games on Xbox live and chat. If its moderate or strict its very unlikely your router will support two or more xboxes with an Open NAT.

For some reason it wont let me log on to my IP address or the default IP address for my router. What should I do so I can try to upload the latest version of firmware?

Press the Windows button and R together (you want to access the Start/Run function)

Type in cmd

When the window appear type in

ipconfig

Look for your defaulty gateway

That is what you should enter into your browser to access your router.

Updating the firmware isn't hard but you need to understand what you are doing

You can download the user guide for your router here:-

http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/dow ... -WEB,0.pdf

Download and read the section on how to upgrade.

You can download the firmware for your router here:-

http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/sup ... 1/download

By selecting the hardware version of your router
